North Florida's profile is defined by a few competitive showings on the road and at neutral sites and by several damaging blowouts at power conference arenas. Close outings at Wofford and neutral-court games against Southern Miss and Prairie View showed the team can compete with mid-major peers but heavy losses at Florida, Tennessee and Gonzaga exposed defensive issues and erased margin for error. A home loss to SIUE compounds the problem because the committee puts extra weight on protecting home court when nonconference résumé is thin.
